college magazine analysis

This magazine is a typical college magazine because of the student on the front cover in the center at mid shot and smiling to make it appealing and cheesy which attracts students. The background is blurred out to make the picture stand out. The girl on the front cover is a stereotypical student that males would be attracted to because of the blonde curly hair and wearing shorts.

The target audience for this magazine is student teenagers it shows this by naming the magazine ‘college’ and also the subjects on the sides such as ‘she’s 15 & pregnant’. It would also be for middle class because it looks like a normal magazine anyone could buy.

The main title is big in capitals to make it stand out. It is the only writing in red to match the theme by matching the t shirt of the girl in the picture to make the title stand out and different from the rest of the writing. The rest of the text is around the picture and the writing has only 3 colours to make it simple and look professional they have gone for black, blue and for the title red.

The thing I would change on this magazine is the date and issue number underneath the title, I would change this because the writing is too small and I cannot read it proply because it blends into the background with the colour green. There is also a bar code in the bottom corner of the magazine which would be on every magazine covers.
