front cover

I used a mid-shot picture because most magazines use a mid-shot picture on the front page. The colour scheme I used was orange and black mainly; I used orange because it is the college colour and to not make it looks messy by using too many colours. However I made the college party section in a pink this was to make it stand out from the other writing; this is because the college party is the most popular and if they see we have information in the magazine it will attract more students to buy it. I added an east Norfolk logo to show it is an official college magazine. I also added a barcode to the magazine to make it look real. I put in capitals ‘free’ this is to attract the students so they don’t have to pay for it they would get it then might like it to buy the next issue. The head title at the top of the page is in a stereotypical college style because the style is ‘college like’. I think the style and the writing and colour scheme went well with the picture.
However I think I could improve the magazine by making the background all the same colour, I had trouble on Photoshop trying to make the whole background colour white. For my music magazine I will make sure I know how to make the background all the same colour make it look neat and professional. I think it also looks quite plain and could be more filled up with information because there are some blank spaces on the side.
