My music magazine has the majority of conventions that a music magazine should have, for example on my front cover I have used all the techniques to make it look like a front cover. I made the main title the biggest font of the whole page to show that it is the name of the magazine and to make it stand out from the rest. I added onto the front cover a barcode, the dateline, web address, price, text what to find inside the magazine and a main picture that would normally be on a magazine. On my front cover I have used only 3 different fonts to not make it look messy and to make it look professional. I also only used 3 colours for my font so it doesn’t look messy and to make it look consistent and have a theme throughout my magazine. The title I chose for my magazine was ‘Rouge’ I chose this because it is the French world for red and then I could use the red colour throughout the magazine to show I have related to the title. I have chosen 2 pictures for the front page, the main picture is in the middle of the page at a longshot angle, I chose this picture it is a casual picture in normally clothes to show anyone can buy the magazine and is a middle class magazine for younger people. The other picture I chose was a girl lying in roses at a close up to be more personal, this effect shows the colour scheme of red again and also a ‘sexier’ side to the magazine to show it has a variety of styles.

On my contents page I have still followed the conventions of what a real music magazine should be like for example I still have a main title which is bigger than the rest of the text to show what page it is, I have also added a few pictures to make it more interesting for the readers by having more of a visual idea about the magazine and the style of it for my target audiences. I also added a ‘dear editors’ column on my contents page so the readers can relate to the magazine and can write up, so they could be involved into the magazine and to hear the readers point of view and comments to see what they really think of it. I have added a quote on the page which most magazines would have to make it more realistic. I have also added page numbers on where to find the page inside the magazine that they are looking for, this is what you would normally see on a contents page. The images I chose for my contents page is a model posing at a photo shoot at a mid-shot angle to show it is to do with fashion as well as music and I have also added an image of a normal girl listening to her iPod also at a mid-shot angle to show it is to do with music as well.

I have followed the conventions of what a real music magazine featured article would be like to mine and they also match up. I have used a lot of text and more information than my other pages to find out about the new singer, I have added more than one picture to make it more realistic for the readers, I have also used the same colours that I have throughout the magazine to show the theme of the magazine to make it look professional and more conventional to a real magazine.

The genre of my magazine that I have produced is mainly pop I have shown this in my magazine by adding bright and fun pictures throughout the pages it is aimed for the younger target audience. The magazines that influenced my music magazine were magazines like ‘Q’ by using the same colour schemes as theme by going with a red and white style and have a white title with a red background. I also was influenced by ‘rolling stones’ magazine by using one main picture and not a lot of text and to make the text around the picture quite big so there isn’t too much information for the readers to read and look to packed.
