My music magazine is most likely to be published by a large/medium publisher such as Bauer (the largest privately owner publisher in Europe) or Dennis (medium size publisher) because my magazine has a smaller target audience, whereas other magazine have a wider range of target audiences for their magazine which attracts more people. However it will be known as a fashionable magazine which will attract a lot of my target audience but my magazine is not aimed at both genders whereas NME has a target audience of both genders (which is a large publisher) so it will be more common and more popular than my magazine. It wouldn’t be a small publisher like Clash because I do think my magazine could become successful and quite well known through Europe.

The advantages of going with a big company such as IPC would be that it would become well known around the world and become a very popular magazine than it would be publishing with Clash because it wouldn’t go far and would only publish around locally so it wouldn’t be as popular. Another advantage of publishing with IPC is that you could earn more money because it would be a popular magazine which the target audience would be buying monthly and starting a trend to buy it, if publishing with Clash it wouldn’t sell as much which wouldn’t make as much money for people to buy it because it wouldn’t be a well-known magazine.

However the disadvantages of going with a big company like IPC is that it could affect your editorial independence because it would cost a lot more money to publish it out to make it world-wide and if no one buys the magazine they will be become bankrupt and lose their magazine because they are not getting any profits, perhaps by not publishing enough. Some magazines will probably have an online version of their magazine or a radio station to help to promote the magazine if you want the magazine to be well-known.
